Walk in interview for selection of Act Apprentices

The Company requires Diploma Holders to engage as Act Apprentices under Apprenticeship Act 1961 (Amendment 1973 i.e. BOAT Scheme) for ONE YEAR in the following disciplines:

Reservation: SC-4, ST-4

Eligibility Criteria for Apprenticeship Training :

The candidates those who have passed Diploma in any of the above disciplines on or after 1.6.2005 and who have not registered earlier as Act Apprentice under Apprenticeship Act 1961 at any point of time or have not completed one year Company Training or not having experience of one year and above are eligible for Apprenticeship Training.

The candidates who are not meeting with the above specifications need not attend the interview.

The eligible Diploma Holders as above may attend ‘Walk-in Interview’ as per the Date, time and venue given below:

On selection, the Apprentices will be given training for a period of one year. They will be paid stipend of Rs.2500/- p.m. Free lodging and boarding facility will be provided by the Company to the Apprentices during the training period.

On completion of one year Apprenticeship Training, the Apprentices will be relieved from the Company. In no case the Apprenticeship shall be extended. It is also to be noted that there is no assurance of any employment in the Company.

Candidates are required to download and bring duly completed Application Form given below alongwith certificates in original in proof of Age, Qualification, Caste etc. and also a zerox copy thereof, at the time of walk-in interview.

In case the above documents are not brought or any information is found to be false or incorrect, the candidate will not be considered for interview.

This is being specifically brought to notice that option of giving the interview in HINDI is available to the candidates.

No TA will be paid to attend the Walk-in Interview.

B. Stipend
The Ship Draftsman Trainees will be paid stipend of Rs 4000/-pm during the first year of training and Rs.4500/-pm during the second year. On successful completion of two years Ship Draftsman training they may be considered for appointment to the post of Senior Ship Draughtsman Grade IV in the scale of pay of Rs. 4700-110-5800-120-7480.

C. Age:
Shall not exceed 27 years as on 15 May 2008 relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD.

D. Method of Selection
By Written and Practical Test/Interview to be held at Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Kochi

E. General
i) Government of India Directives on reservation applicable for OBC/SC/ST/PWD candidates will apply and be strictly followed.
ii) *One post of Ship Draftsman Trainee is reserved for Persons With Disabilities, which is earmarked for HH category with the physical requirement of ST, S, W, B, L, SE, KC,F and PP. The degree of disability should be between 40% and 50%. The candidate should possess a latest Certificate to this effect issued by an authorized Medical Board constituted by the Government of India/State Government.
iii) Applicants meeting requirement and short listed only will be required to appear for the Test/Personal Interview. Candidates are advised to make sure that they are meeting the eligibility requirements for the post before applying.
iv) Candidates should enclose copies of certificates in proof of age, qualification, experience and caste and their candidature will be considered on the strength of those certificates and information provided in the applications. If at any stage it is found that any information furnished is false/incorrect or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, the candidature is liable to be cancelled/rejected. No correspondence regarding the rejection of application in case of ineligibility will be entertained.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for grant of Direct Permanent Commission(DPC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in Army Dental Corps.

Eligibility:

Direct Permanent Commission : Candidate must be BDS (with min. 60%) marks in final year/ MDS from a recognised College/University. Should have completed one year rotary internship recognised by Dental Council of India at the time of submission of application. (ii) Should be in possession of Permanent Dental Registration Certificate valid upto at least 31/12/2008 at the time of interview (iii) Candidates with BDS qualification must not have attained 28 years of age on 31/12/2008. Age relaxation upto 30 years in case of candidates with Post-Graduate qualifications.

Short Service Commission : Candidate must be BDS (with min. 55%) marks in final year/ MDS from a recognised College/University. (ii) Should have completed one year rotary internship recognised by Dental Council of India at the time of submission of application. (iii) Should be in possession of Permanent Dental Registration Certificate valid upto at least 31/12/2008 at the time of interview (iv) less than 45 years of age on 31/12/2008.

Selection Procedure :
Direct Permanent Commission : Candidates found eligible will shirtlisted based on their final BDS marks and attempts taken in Final BDS. They will be called for written test and Clinical Test followed by an Interview.

Pay : The candidates on commissioning in Army Dental Corps will be granted the rank of Capt. in the scale of Rs.9450-9600-300-11400 plus rank pay of Rs.400/-. Non-practicing allowance at the rate of 25% of the Basic pay and Dearness Allowance.

Promotion : SSC Officers are eligible for promotion upto the rank of Major. Permanent Commissioned Officers are eligible for time scale promotion upto the rank of Lt.Col./ Colonel (TS) thereafter upto the rank of Lt. Genera be selection.

Tenure : The tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 5 years (total SSC tenure 10 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria. However, on completion of 2 years service as SSC officer, they are eligible to apply for Departmental Permanent Commission provided they had not attained the age of 28 years on 31 Dec 2008 (30 years for MDS degree holders). Permanent Commissioned Officers are eligible for time scale promotion upto the rank of LtCol/Colonel (TS) thereafter upto the rank of Lt General by selection.

Fee : One DD of Rs.200/- payable at New Delhi in favour of "Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (AP Fund)"
